Meet Bryan

Interview with Bryan "Goose" Finnerty

In addition to his invaluable experience as an owner/operator of one of the highest-performing indoor sports facilities in the country, Bryan has served as the firm’s key resource for financial strategy, funding assistance, cost containment and programming. His expertise and experience in these areas is leveraged heavily as clients make the transition from the planning and strategy stages through capital acquisition and allocation and finally to construction and start-up.

A longtime standout as a professional soccer player – he was a Rookie of the Year, a perennial all-star and a championship series MVP in the MISL – Bryan is not only an esteemed businessman but also a leader in the soccer industry nationwide. He serves as the Special Project Chairperson and an industry advisor for the U.S. Indoor Soccer Association. As a former member of the top-ranked men’s soccer team at San Diego State University, he led the Aztecs to three NCAA Tournament berths and a championship final before being drafted by the Detroit Rockers in their inaugural season. Along with his role at SFA, Bryan is the founding owner of High Velocity Sports (HV), a 120,000 sf multisport center in Canton, MI. Like other SFA facilities, HV has consistently exceeded financial projections while simultaneously developing athletes and the region’s community. Bryan is also an experienced real estate investor and entrepreneur with a track record for building organizations whose financial successes have been driven by a commitment to serving the customer. He has also opened a number of successful businesses and consulted on dozens of leading sports complexes.

A graduate of San Diego State University, Bryan – honored as one of Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40” in 2006 – is one of the most recognized and esteemed speakers and presenters in the sports facility business, routinely presenting at annual conferences and trade shows such as U.S. Indoor Soccer Association and Athletic Business. He also currently holds or has held numerous leadership positions within his community, including the Canton Soccer Club (Director of Coaching; 1992-2005), the City of Canton Sports Council (Chair; 1999-2001), and the Victory Park Board (Member; 2001-present).
